This is a service that allows resources not available in the collection of Istanbul Gedik University Library to be requested from other university libraries under specific rules and loaned to the user.

General Rules and Conditions

1. Only academic staff and graduate/doctoral students of Istanbul Gedik University can benefit from the Interlibrary Loan Tracking System (KİTS).
2. Before making a request, users should search the Yordam catalog to ensure that the desired resource is not available in our library.
3. For resources not available in our library, the Interlibrary Loan Tracking System Request Form must be completed in full and sent via email to the responsible librarian ([email protected]).
4. Users who wish to benefit from this service must fill out the KİTS Book Request Form.
5. Requests with missing/incorrect bibliographic information or that cannot be found in any institution will be canceled and the user will be notified.
6. The number of items and duration of resources provided via KİTS may vary depending on the lending library's policies.
7. Once the requested resource arrives at the library, the user will be notified and must collect it within 3 days. Uncollected materials will be returned.
8. To extend the borrowing period, the user must contact the responsible librarian before the due date. Extension is subject to the rules of the lending library.
9. Users must return borrowed resources on time. Users are responsible for overdue items.
10. In case of damage or loss of borrowed resources, all costs must be covered by the user in accordance with the supplying institution’s regulations.
11. Shipping and postal costs for requested items via KİTS are covered by the requesting user.
12. Our university has an agreement with Yurtiçi Kargo. Please use Yurtiçi Kargo for shipments (except in special circumstances).

Request Conditions from Other Libraries

1. Requests are fulfilled through the KİTS-Ankos system.
2. Up to 3 books can be borrowed for 30 days, including shipping time. No extensions are allowed.
3. Reference materials (dictionaries, encyclopedias, theses, etc.), DVDs, audiovisual materials, special collections, and periodicals are not available for loan.
4. In case of loss, delay, or damage of borrowed resources, the lending rules of Istanbul Gedik University Library apply.
5. To ensure requests are processed accurately and on time, the request form must be completed fully. Incomplete/incorrect requests will be rejected and the requesting library will be notified by email.
6. Istanbul Gedik University Library reserves the right to recall borrowed items at any time regardless of the due date.
