Read & Publish Agreements
As part of the EKUAL Project, led by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, access to the electronic journals published by The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has been provided as of January 1, 2026. As of 2026, APC support is provided for a certain number of articles through both content access and the open access (OA) article publication (“Read & Publish”) model.
Since there is a quota for a certain number of AE articles under the “TÜBİTAK–RSC Read and Publish Agreement,” TÜBİTAK has established specific criteria for articles eligible for APC support.

This agreement, signed as part of the EKUAL Project led by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, is valid for three years, from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028.
Under the terms of the agreement, provided you are the corresponding author, you will be able to publish your articles in unlimited open access in the 443 “Hybrid” and “Gold Open Access” journals included in the Cambridge Journals Online 2026 collection, without any article processing charges and without any quota limits.

Under the TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM EKUAL program, the “Read & Publish” agreement signed with the Institute of Physics (IOP) and covering the 2026–2028 period is valid for three years.
Corresponding Authors will be able to publish an unlimited number of articles as Open Access (OA) in IOP’s hybrid and Gold (full open access) journals without paying an Article Processing Charge (APC).

Open Access Process and Guidance Documents
As part of the EKUAL Project led by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, a “Read & Publish” agreement covering both access to academic content and the publication of Open Access (OA) articles for the 2026–2028 period has been signed with Oxford University Press (OUP).

In the Oxford Journals Online 2026 journal collection, authors will be able to utilize the annual Open Access (OA) article publication quota in accordance with the established criteria for hybrid and fully open access journals.

The TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM Wiley agreement has become effective as of February 17, 2026, under the “Read & Publish” agreement for the 2026–2028 period.
Members of our university may publish in Q1 and Q2-ranked Wiley Hybrid and Wiley Gold journals which are indexed in Web of Science (WoS) under the SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI subject classifications (1316 journals) in the categories of “Research Article,” “Review Article,” “Data Article,” and “Rapid Publication” without paying an Article Processing Charge (APC). The agreement includes an annual article quota. If the annual quota is reached, the journal’s APC fee must be paid.
The corresponding author must be a tenured academic staff member affiliated with the University, and a university email address (…@gedik.edu.tr) must be used during the submission process. If an author whose article has been accepted by the relevant journals wishes to take advantage of the agreement, approval for publication will be granted by TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM.
The “Transformative Agreement” (TA) signed between Springer Nature and TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM has been reactivated as of January 1, 2026. The agreement covers the 2024–2026 period.
Members of our university will be able to publish open access articles including “Original Articles,” “Review Articles,” and “Continuing Education” articles in Q1 and Q2 ranked Springer Nature hybrid journals (922 journals) indexed in the Web of Science under the SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI subject classifications without paying an Article Processing Charge (APC). The agreement includes an annual article quota. If the annual quota is reached, the author must pay the publication’s APC fee.
A pilot program launched in BMC journals, published by Springer Nature, will provide a 75% discount on article processing charges (APCs) for our country. As a result, our researchers publishing in 64 BMC journals will pay only 25% of the total APC fee. Click here for the BMC journals included in the pilot program.
